Tom Selleck-2American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakout role was playing private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) during which time he was nominated five times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series. He won in 1985. From 2010 to 2010 Selleck has played New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he has portrayed troubled small-town police chief Jesse Stone in nine television films that are based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Since Magnum, P.I., he has appeared in over 50 roles on TV and film, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was the television character of Monica Geller's love and affluent Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. Additionally the role of A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. Cooper also played the character in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
